Three centuries into humanity's longest voyage, the generation ship is failing.

Reserves are falling, systems are breaking down, and tens of thousands of sleepers depend on the few who are awake. When seven new leaders are woken to join the ship's Council, the beloved Steward asks them to help him carry an impossible burden, and to trust him with the choices no one else can bear to make.
